FYSIO-EXPERTS ALS ONDERZOEKSINSTITUUT

Fysio-Experts is een gespecialiseerde fysiotherapie praktijk. Naast het behandelen van patiënten wordt er echter ook wetenschappelijk onderzoek gedaan.

Marloes de Graaf is klinisch epidemioloog en is gepromoveerd aan de afdeling huisartsgeneeskunde (Erasmus). Haar promotieonderzoek betrof schouderklachten. Momenteel werkt Marloes aan wetenschappelijke onderzoeksprojecten t.a.v nekklachten en chronische pijn en begeleidt zij enkele projecten. Marloes heeft (mee) gewerkt aan wetenschappelijk publicaties en boeken. Erik Thoomes doet onderzoek naar nekhernia's en heeft hier een aantal wetenschappelijke artikelen over gepubliceerd. Daarnaast zijn er enkele collega therapeuten die samen werken met Fysio-Experts op het gebied van wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Patricia Kerkvliet heeft haar afstudeeropdracht in het Maxima Centrum uitgevoerd. Laurie de Rooij zal het aankomend jaar tevens starten met haar onderzoeksproject.

 

De CROMM-studie 

Dit onderzoek gaat over nekklachten en beperkte beweeglijkheid. Eén van de doelstellingen is om te onderzoeken of een nieuw computer gestuurd onderzoeksmiddel even goed is als een al langer gebruikt instrument om de beweeglijkheid van de nek te onderzoeken. Daarnaast wordt geïnventariseerd welke activiteiten moeilijker uit te voeren zijn wanneer mensen last hebben van nekklachten. De medisch ethische commissie heeft dit onderzoek goedgekeurd. Marloes Thoomes-de Graaf is de initiator van dit onderzoek en heeft het tevens opgezet. Er is samenwerking met de Universiteit van Birmingham, de Universidat Rey Juan Carlos en het Franklin Pierce College. 

 

De nekhernia-studie

Dit onderzoek gaat over de beweeglijkheid van de zenuw bij een nekhernia. Erik Thoomes en Marloes de Graaf zijn de initiator van dit onderzoek. De medisch ethische commissie heeft dit onderzoek goedgekeurd. Er is samenwerking met de Universiteit van Birmingham, Auckland University en de Universtity of Sussex. 

 

Fysiotherapeutisch handelen bij nekklachten

Dit onderzoek gaat o.a. over het klinisch redeneerproces bij nekklachten. Francois Maissan is de initiator van dit onderzoek. De medisch ethische commissie heeft dit onderzoek goedgekeurd. Er is samenwerking met Hogeschool Utrecht.
